Reality TV

I don't care for reality tv.  I have watched a few but the majority of the shows just baffle me.  I just don't understand how most of them even get started and why people even care to watch it.

I was watching a rerun of "Sex and the City" on Style network, the one where Miranda's mother dies and Carrie gets mad at Aiden when he buys her a new Mac.  Still don't understand, after all these years, why she gets mad at him.  She's a writer, she needs something to write on since obviously a pen and paper are so last season and he does something generous and she gets mad at him?  Anyways, after "Sex and the City" went off, "Jerseylicious" came on.

I watched about 15 mins of it and I just don't get the appeal of the show.  All it's about is the life of employees at a hair salon.  How is that entertaining?  One of the girls was gonna throw a big party for her 25th birthday.  I will say that the theme for her party was pretty cool.  It was gonna be the year she was born which I think was 1987.  Pretty cool theme.  I was a bit surprised when she said her age 'cause I thought she had to be at least 10 years older than that.  Lay off the tanning girl!  After that, I shut it off.  If I want to see people at a party, I'll go to one or throw one myself.

The majority of reality shows are about normal, regular, everyday people doing normal, regular, everyday things that interest them.  Where is the entertainment in that?  Also, it's so sad that so many channels that use to have really good programming have gone to almost nothing but reality shows.  Even GSN (game show network) started airing "Dancing w/ the Stars".  How is that a game show?

I would love to see this genre just go away.  "Dancing w/ the Stars", "The Bachelor" and shows like that that are more competition can stay but these ones about regular people need to go and fast!  Bring back scripted programs w/ actors and actresses.  You know, real talent?  I'm dreaming again, aren't I?   lol

I know it's just a pixel pet, and the world is really screwy right now with the news but every time I log into my game and see my little adorable baby waving at me, my heart breaks. I truly love PS and playing. It is relaxing. It is cute. It lets me have a place in the world where there is no murder or crime ONLY CUTENESS. I am also allergic to animals even though I love them so much, so this is my only pet. I am seriously depressed and heartbroken over this closure. I know EA does NOT care about us or our pixels. They know that eventually we will all get over it, but I REFUSE TO STOP GIVING THEM HELL FOR TAKING AWAY MY BABY.

DON'T GIVE UP, DO NOT LET THEM WIN. DON'T STOP SPREADING THE WORD.

Even if they can save ONE server for the loyal people.

Save Pet Society

EA has announced that after almost 5 years, they are shutting down Pet Society.  The only reason they give is to make room for other games.  We don’t want other games, we want Pet Society!  We should try everything we can to save our pets!  This game is more than a game to us!  I’ve been playing this game for a little over 4 years.  My little Calliope Star, my little blue pet from the heavens, means a lot to me.  I’ve spent many hours and money giving her an amazing pixel life.  The saddest part about all of this is that I’ve met a lot of wonderful people on facebook through this game from all over the world.  This game has brought us together and now EA wants to destroy it.

Ask your friends and family to sign it also!  It doesn’t take that long and could save the game.

it's been so damn long

i don't want to say i completely forgot about this blog but i kinda did.  i think it's been 4 years since i last posted anything.  some things have changed, others haven't.  

i, unfortunately, still don't have a job but i am starting to work on making jewelry!  i love it.  i found out about polymer clay from a facebook friend and decided to check it out.  it's so much fun!  i'm not that great at it just yet but i'm doing my best.  i even sold a pair of earrings on ebay!  if that doesn't make a gal feel good, i'm not sure what does.  lol

sadly, our 2 cats, conan o'brien and monique katrina passed away.  conan died on thanksgiving day 2010 and monique died in august 2011.  it was so heart-breaking to lose both cats within a year.  i wanted to hold off getting any cats for a long time.  one, i couldn't deal w/ the heartbreak and two, my mom and i both are kinda allergic to them.  it's not life-threatening but it's annoying.  can easily be taken care of w/ an allergy pill so like i said, it's not the worst of allergies.  but, my mom, who i swear you cannot say no to, decided that she wanted another cat almost immediately after monique died.  she just had to have another cat in this house.  so after searching all over, she finally found one on craigslist.  her and my brother went to pick it up while i stayed home enjoying the last final minutes of a clean and quiet house.  cats are messy and crazy.  she comes home and i look in the carrier and not see one but TWO, TWO CATS!!!  what? what? what?  she said ONE!!!  le sigh  we named the one cat jimmy and the other cat was named by my dad since he was even less happy than me that mom brought home two cats.  he likes "the big bang theory" so he named the cat sheldon since he thought it was a male.  it's not but the name seems perfect for her.  she's so petite, even now 2 1/2 years since my mom brought her home.  holding jimmy is like holding a baby, he's so big but not fat.  like conan was my baby so is jimmy.  i call him a stalker sometimes 'cause he'll just follow me from room to room.  lol  i love them! ♥  i never thought i could love another cat after my baby, conan, died.  it was just so heart-breaking.  have to stop talking about it or the tears will come.  also, we got the cats the day before my birthday.  it was nice.

we had to stop cable for a bit and invested in netflix, hulu and a few roku boxes.  OMG  i love my roku box!  ♥  we got cable again a few months ago and when my mom asked me if i wanted a box for my room, i declined.  with netflix, hulu, pandora and crunchyroll, my tv viewing time is set!  i need nothing more.

what else has changed?  hmm  i feel like a bunch has changed but maybe not?  i stopped dying my hair.  it was getting too much to have to dye it once a month.  my hair never seems to grow until i dye it.  then bam hair starts flowing from my scalp.  so annoying.

i'm still single but i've made my peace w/ it.  one day that time will come and i'll be ready but for now, i'll still work on perfecting myself.  right now, i don't think i'm in a good place to even have a relationship.  it's all good though.  and i'm serious about that.  ^_^

i lost 50 pounds!  a few Christmases ago, me and my brother went in and got the wii fit.  i couldn't believe when it weighed me and said i was way over 200 pounds.  i knew i was fat but damn!  that definitely made me get my ass in gear.  i have slacked off a bit since then but i still haven't gone back above 200.  so, that's good.  now that spring has sprung i'll get back into it again.

oh, about a month and a half before conan baby died, my mom broke her chest bone.  :(  it was horrible!  she didn't have to get surgery but she had to sleep sitting up for almost a month!  she slept in the living room, on her chair.  she's all better now but it was rough for her.

i think that's it.  some good, some bad.  that's life for you though.  i think overall though, in these past 4 years, there have definitely been more good than bad so that's awesome!  will try to post more but no promises. lol  ♥

Hi! I'm a PC and...

apparently my pixie for WeatherPixie is a Mac. She's dressed in her apple shirt and has her apple Macbook in her hand! I'm jealous! LOL :D

Have you ever noticed on cartoons/anime the characters always have a version of a Mac? Seriously, I can't find any pics but if I do I will post them. Like, one cartoon or anime, I can't remember which, the character had a laptop but it was a pineapple on the cover instead of an apple of course. It cracked me up! Check it out next time you watch a cartoon or anime!

Pet Society

Does anyone else out there play Pet Society on Facebook? I love that game/app! It's so cute! I've added so many friends on Facebook just for the sole purpose of having more pets to visit on Pet Society! They are on other apps too so it's not just for Pet Society but you know what I mean. I love it and everyone I've added has been so friendly and nice!

But, Pet Society, for those who don't know what I'm talking about is a game/app put out by Playfish where you get a pet and a house for the pet to live in. You can customize both your pet and your house to what you want! It's awesome! They recently added gardens to your house, so now you can grow fruits, vegetables, flowers and trees! It's a really cool game/app. Check it out! If you like YoVille or even Animal Crossing, I'm pretty sure you'll love Pet Society. It reminds me of those 2 games but w/ all animals! So cute! ^_^

RIP Ed, Farrah and Michael :(

Well, this week we lost 3 celebrities. Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. :( It almost always happens in 3's. Strange but true!

Ed McMahon was 86. No reports have been giving on cause of death. I loved him on Johnny Carson. He seemed like a sweet person.

Farrah Fawcett was 62. She died of cancer. I really wish they would find a cure for cancer already. All the money that they collect and still nothing. It's so sad and it just tears a person apart.

And, Michael Jackson was 50. He died of cardiac arrest. Whether or not you liked him, people try and be kind. One, it's not right to speak ill of the dead. Two, his family, friends and fans are grieving big time! If you never lost anyone close to you, count your blessings! If you did, then you know what I'm talking about! I was not a fan of him but once you lose someone close to you, all the bad stuff they did just flies out the window and you ONLY remember the good. So, be kind okay.

Like I said, I was not a fan of Michael Jackson but I was shocked to hear he died. I was like "really? the white black guy?". I was sleeping when my Mom came in and told me. She was shocked too kinda like everyone else is. I was a bit shocked about Ed McMahon, but with him being up in age it's almost inevitable. And, with Farrah, unfortunately cancer is a wrecking machine. It was sad but not very shocking.

Once again, my heart goes out to the loved ones of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I lost my Grandma in 2000 and I know what you're going through. And, while you might not believe this now, time really does heal all wounds. Stay strong! Ciao!!

How DO they decide...

who gets a star on the walk and who doesn't? 'Cause like I said in my last post Britney Spears has one and so does Garth Brooks, which I don't think either of them contributed THAT much to the recording industry BUT Led Zeppelin nor The Rolling Stones have one! And, it's not because they are "rock stars" 'cause Kiss and The Beatles have one! So, how DO they decide? I think and I'm sure ALOT of people will agree with me but Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones have contributed alot more to the recording industry than Britney Spears and Garth Brooks. I mean, The Rolling Stones are STILL putting out albums and touring and they've been around together for like 40 years! I'm sure they don't give two shits about it but it just irks me when REAL musicians get shafted. Like, how Led Zeppelin were never even nominated for a Grammy but they give them by the wheelbarrow full to the Britney Spears of the world. And, the majority of them don't even write their own songs! It just really, really irks me! It just shows how screwed up the people running these things are, especially the Grammy people! They don't know good, NO, AWESOME talent when they see it! I'm done ranting...sorry! :) Now, I'm really going to bed! lol Ciao!! ^_^

Really?

Cameron Diaz was awarded w/ a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today. Really? Don't get me wrong, I like her. I think she's a good actress but she's never even won an award. Go look it up on wikipedia. (I did.) She's been nominated for such but never won one. Also, she was never even nominated for an Oscar (the cream of the crop). So, why did she get a star? Do they just give them out to any celeb? I know it's sounds like I don't like her, I just thought they were reserved for the best of the best in film, music and the like. And, like I said, she's a good actress but I wouldn't call her "great" or "the best of the best". She's good.

You know what, I just looked up the Walk of Fame on wikipedia (love that site) and apparently they do give them to just any celeb because Britney Spears has one and personally, I don't think she should get one either. Actually, Cameron deserves it more than her!

PETA has Officially Lost it!

As if we didn't have enough proof that the people running PETA were crazy, this says it all! This is in response to President Obama killing a fly. Yes...a fly!

"We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. "We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals."

Ummm...Mr. Friedrich? A fly is NOT an animal! A fly is a disease carrying insect that throws up everytime it lands! I mean, if you're gonna stand up to the President for your "cause" at least sound somewhat intelligent! An animal?!?!?!?!? Seriously?

I'm all for vegetarians but this is ridiculous! PETA has just become a joke of themselves! I mean, almost everytime you hear about them in the news, it's just some ridiculous nonsense like this!

So, anyways....they are sending the President some fly-catching machine that catches flies and then you can release them outside. I'll personally stick to the fly swatter but whatever you can get for free, I say get it!

Mac n' Cheese

I'm about to make some mac n' cheese! I know it's late but I'm hungry! I love the spiral kind the best. We have a grocery store around here called "Meijer" and their spiral mac n' cheese is awesome! It tastes just as good as Krafts and is way cheaper! Kraft spiral mac n' cheese is $1.00 on sale, which is pretty expensive considering there's less in it than regular mac n' cheese! Meijer spiral mac on sale is 40 cents! You save 60 cents! That's enough to buy another box. They both have the same amount of ounces and, like I said, the Meijer one tastes just as good as the Kraft kind! I like Kraft better for regular mac n' cheese but for spiral, I have to go store brand! I'm gonna go make some before it gets any later! Ciao!! ^_^

Looooooooooooooooong day!

Today was such a long day! I got up at 1pm, got ready, went out at 3pm and didn't come home until 8:30pm! I wasn't at a job just went out at first w/ my Mom and brother, then just my Mom. Let's see, we went to Dollar General, post office, meat store then home to drop off the cold stuff. Then my Mom and I went to Kroger's, Smoky Bones, Wal-mart, Best Buy, Meijer's and then home again! My brother decided not to come back out w/ us which is good 'cause he would've been complaining about all the stops! My Mom brought me a new pair of pants! Thank you!!!!!!! So, I'm going to sleep now! I'm sooooooooooo tired! Night! Ciao!! ^_^

Feeling Better

I haven't posted in a few days but wanted to say I'm feeling better about the turning 30 situation! I really have a feeling that things are gonna turn around for the better. I'm going to bed now though 'cause I have been up for 22 hours and I am feeling it! So, nite all! Ciao!!

Realization

I just came to the realization that I will be 30 in a few months! If that's not bad enough, I'm painfully lonely! I don't want to go into my 4th decade of life single! I can't bear the thought of it! What is a gal to do?

I don't have much options! I live in the country and cannot get anywhere by foot! I need a car even for the necessities! I don't have money for college and feel I'm too old anyway to go. Even if I was able to go, I would most likely not meet anyone my age! I definitely don't want a younger guy. I don't have a job at the moment and when I call places and fill out applications, I never get a positive response 'cause of the bleak economy! So...what is a gal to do?!?!?!??

I have a little over 6 months before my 30th birthday! Things must change, for the better!

Yummy Yummy Dinner

Windchimes

I got a windchime for my blog! How cool is that? I love it! There's a little button to the page down at the bottom right hand side. The site is in Japanese but you can translate it to help ya bring the windchime to your page! (that's what i did) I love that translating button! But, I love windchimes! I don't really understand why stores only sell them at this time of year. They are soooooooo peaceful and perfect year round. I'm sure they sell them all year, but they only put them on sell at the beginning of spring. I don't think there is anything more peaceful in winter then when you are outside while it's snowing and you hear the windchime! Especially if your busting your butt to shovel the snow. The sound of the windchime just makes you pause and reflect on the peacefulness of it and the beauty of the falling snow! Our windchimes are hung up outside year round. They are so very peaceful and now I have that peace on my blog! Enjoy! Ciao!! ^_^

New Template

How pretty is my new template? I got use to having a black background but I wanted something a lot prettier & when I saw this template, I had to have it! I love butterflies and it doesn't overpower the blog. You can still see the posts and that's what's important! Ciao! ^_^

My iPod skin has arrived!

I ordered it off of ebay, from Hong Kong! It was the cheapest way to get a silicone skin for the iPod! At Walmart, where items are usually cheap, the still wanted $12.99 for a 2-pack silicone skin, which was cheaper than Meijer. They wanted $19.99 for the same 2-pack skin! Off of ebay, I got one, which is all I need, for only $1.99!!!! You cannot beat that price! It's a really pretty color too. Here's a pic!

It's a pretty light blue, like Sky Blue! It looks darker in their ad, but I still love it! I put a link to ebay, where you can order it for an iPod Nano if you want one. The shipping is even fast considering it's coming from Hong Kong to the US. Ciao! ^_^

Rainy Day & Night

Spring is definitely here! It's been raining on & off all day! I love the rain eventhough it kills my sinuses! Actually though, I haven't been feeling it today. Knock on wood. It's suppose to rain tomorrow too. I hope it does. Days/nights like this are perfect for just lounging, listening to music/rain & sipping coffee. Perfect! Ciao! ^_^

Easter Sunday morning! I'm hardly ever up at this time and I went out to get the newspaper and to call Monique some more. When I saw this sunrise, I literally stopped in my tracks! It was so gorgeous, I had to run inside & grab my camera so I can take some pics! It's beautiful!

Bath Time

We have 2 cats here...Conan o' Brien & Monique Katrina! Well, on Saturday night, somehow Monique got out and was gone for almost 24 hours before meowing at the back door to come in. So, today I decided that maybe we should give them both a bath just incase of fleas or anything else! Here are pics of the cats after bath time! lol

Hello all! Things are pretty much the same in my house since last post! I really need to get my ass in gear though and start exercising! I'm just sooooooooooooooooooo damn lazy it's not even funny! Animal Crossing: City Folk!!!

I have it and I love it!! Here are my likes and dislikes of the game!

Dislikes (let's get these out of the way)

1. you can't add codes like in the gc version, it was so much easier & quicker to get the furniture sets you wanted.

2. i wish there was more to do in the city like maybe a casino, like they have in "my sims" for the ds. if it can be done on ds, i'm sure it can be done on the wii.

3. i wish there was more interaction w/ the animal folk like having bestfriends and go shopping together...ok, i don't know but it would be more fun, right? or, even changing THEIR hairstyles like in "my sims" for the wii. i mean, for crying out loud, the bus driver, Kapp'n, is always hitting on my gal but you can't have a bestfriend...lol

Likes (more like loves)

1. i like the way the town turns like in the wild world, which surprisingly, i didn't care for as much as this version and the gc one.

2. i love the way the moon reflects the real-world moon, the phases and everything.

3. the night sky is amazingly done, the way the stars twinkle and how it changes colors is so cool.

4. i love how you don't have to have anyone visit to get upgrades or places added to your town or city. that was always kind of a pain to me.

5. if i was doing these in order, than this one would definitely be number 1. YOU CAN LIVE ANYWHERE YOU WANT!!!! well, not exactly anywhere but you have 4 houses to choose from and they're spread out around the town...mine is on the beach! I didn't mind the gc version 'cause it was nicely done but the chooses are so cool! The ds version, where you shared one house was for the birds! I hated that! Especially, since it was me and my brother sharing the house and our styles clashed! lol But, the wii version takes the cake! A house on the beach, I always wanted one and while it might not happen in real life, at least I have it in "Animal Crossing: City Folk".

I definitely recommend the game for anyone, especially if you loved the gamecube version. It's a nice simple game w/ so much to do, collecting bugs, fish, artwork, fossils, furniture, etc... I have some pics of my gal and town.

Sounds like an oxymoron to me!

This post ties in with the one "This takes the cake." about the feminists being mad at the video game. I know, it's still funny! Anyway, doesn't "feminist gamer" sound like an oxymoron to you? It does to me...big time! I mean, there aren't many video games geared towards women. The two most major games in my life, which I had since I was a kid on various systems involved a guy rescuing a princess. Yes, I'm talking about "Super Mario Bros." and "The Legend of Zelda". Two really great games, but they both seem like games that feminists would not like. I don't know, it just really sounds like "feminist gamer" would be an oxymoron. What do you think?

Side note: I still have never beaten "Super Mario Bros."! I've gotten close in my 20 years of playing the game but never fully beaten it! I will have to do that one day! lol ^_^ Ciao!

My Sims: Kingdom

Since I'm on the topic of video games, I cannot wait until "My Sims: Kingdom" comes out! I know it's only a few months from now but I absolutely loved "My Sims"! It was so cool having to find all the essences and making houses and furniture! I hope this one has more character interaction though. The characters in the original always said the same things! And, even then, that's where the interaction ended. A little boring there but everything was so much fun! I also hope they have more places to move people too! I ran out so quickly once I unlocked everything! I signed up for the mailing list. Haven't heard anything yet but hopefully soon! That's all for now! Ciao!

This has got to be the funniest news story ever! Feminists are mad at a new game called "Fat Princess"! Why? I guess because they have nothing else to complain about this week! No, seriously, I think it's because the character is fat. It's stupid though. They complain when all the female characters are super-thin w/ big boobs and now they are complaining because she's fat. HELLO?!?!?!?! IT'S A GAME!!! I mean, come on! It's not real! It just makes all females look like whiny bitches and we're not! Go feminists, go find something important to bitch about and then maybe, just maybe, men and smart females will take you seriously! Until then, shut up and eat some cake yourselves!

Another new thing!

One of my 2008 resolutions was to read more! Books not just magazines! So, I found this list of the 100 Greatest Novels of all time and started reading them! I've read 2.5 so far!

Animal Farm - technically I read this in grade school but I found it boring and I remember it, so I'm not reading it again. Four legs good, two legs bad! See? I know it!

Sons and Lovers - I didn't care much for this book. It wasn't bad but I didn't like the ending!

Tender is the Night - This is the one I'm reading now! I really like it! It's about this actress and her relationship to a couple. The guy is a psychiatrist and is married to one of his ex-patients. So, he can't leave his wife but has feelings for this girl. It's really good! Pretty racy stuff for 1934! I'm almost done so now on Monday I can get a new one!

I know 100 books seems like a lot but you can get all these books from your library and it doesn't cost you a dime! You can enrich your mind and save money all at the same time! What a deal!

Time for a serious change!

One of the biggest changes of the past year has been my weight and unfortunately I don't mean that in a good way! I always talk about losing weight and doing nothing about it but it is now time for a serious change! I am thinking about exercising all the time! It started about 2 nights ago when I was laying in bed. My mind was way too tired but my body just wanted to move! So, I decided that I'm gonna start writing about my journey here! I'm not gonna post my weight but I will say that I am someone who really needs to lose weight! Really! I honestly don't even know my weight...I take my measurements once a month and that is bad enough! I will post my inches lost though! I'm hoping that this will help me to reach my goal 'cause nothing else is! Who knows, maybe it will help someone else too! So, I'm starting on Monday and we will see from there! Wish me luck! Ciao!

What a long time!

It has litterally been over a year since I last wrote! Some things have changed, some haven't. A year is a long time so I'm not going to go into detail...just start anew! So, hello once again!

Happy Earth Day!

Hope you all did your part in helping earth out! I didn't drive anywhere today. I guess that helped a bit. Who knows. I hope it did. Ciao!!

day 3 until now

It's been so long since I updated last, there is no way I can go day by day. Things are pretty much the same though. We had a really good Easter dinner. My dad helped alot with that, which is very good.

My mom did go back to the doctors on the 19th. She didn't need surgery. Thank God. She is still in the cast though and the doctor wants to see her again on the 1st of May. He told her he isn't totally ruling out surgery, so I guess we will just see what happens.

day 2 --- tuesday, apr 03

my dad had to go to work, of course, but only worked half day since he had to come home and help my mom to the bathroom. we still had only the crutches at this point. in the morning she called the doctors and had an appointment at 4pm. at the doctors, she would find out whether or not she would need surgery. thank God...she didn't!! she did get a better cast and will have to be in it until she goes back to the doctor on the 19th. when she goes back, she will find out then if she still need the regular cast, a walking cast or still surgery. hopefully, she will not need the surgery. the breaks were really clean, so that's good. it was only 1 step and from what she has heard from people about falling off of 1 step, she is doing really good. like her friend fell off of 1 step and her ankle was so broken, the doctors thought they would have to amputee her foot. she can walk now. so, my mom has a really great chance at getting the walking cast on the 19th. you can only hope and pray!

i have now taken over the "mom" role! lol seriously though, i have to cook, clean, shop for food and then go home and put it away. it's not bad, but when she was able to walk, i would help her, you know. now, i get help but not as much as she got when i helped her. my father works, but when he gets home, he helps my mom, so i can't complain there. my brother helps when it's convienent for him. it's annoying, but when he does help, he does good. i definitely do feel like the "mom" now! have to make sure everyone eats and then clean up! lol

the bad part of all of this is that on monday, the day my mom fell, i got a call from a temp. agency. i was scheduled to go in today for some tests, but had to cancel my appointment because of the fall. it sucks because i have been looking for a job. i have mailed out resumes and never had anything! i was bummed and then decided to try out at the temp. agencies. i was starting to get bummed because it was about a week and still haven't heard anything! then i did and i was excited yet a little scared because it has been so long since i last worked. i was ready to go there though and just get out there, you know. then this happened with my mom's ankle. what could you do though? the lady was really nice though and told me to call back when my mom is all better, so that we could re-schedule. that's the end of day 2!

what a week!!!! day 1

what a week i have been having! well, what a week my whole family has been having. last monday, my mom, brother and me went to an outdoor mall for pizza. they were going to be closing in a few minutes but still allowed us to order the pizza. since they were closing we decided to eat outside. it was so beautiful outside with a full moon. but, as we were coming down the stairs my mom fell. we kept asking her if she wanted to get up and she so couldn't. the security guard came over and we all decided to have an ambulance called. that was a good idea, considering she broke her ankle. it was so bad. i felt so bad for her. i still do. i wish she was all better. so, the ambulance came and when they were leaving, i had to take my brother and meet them at the hospital. my brother was freaking out! it was horrible! i didn't know whether to take him home or just have him wait with me there. i decided to have him wait with me there, considering i didn't know how long it was going to take or if i even had enough gas in the car to go back and forth. at that point we still didn't know if she had broken or sprained the ankle. my brother is mentally disabled so even though he is 25, he has the mind of a 10 year old. i decided to ask the nurse if she could put on the cartoon network so he could focus on that and try not to worry so much. she told me i had to ask the security guard and when i did, the lady was a bitch!!! the security guard told me she couldn't cause it was the last game of the final four and all the people wanted to watch it. okay...i could understand that. majority rules...blah, blah, blah. then i looked around and noticed there was NOONE in the waiting room but me and my brother! i could understand if the people in the waiting room wanted to watch the game but you, ms. security guard is a SECURITY GUARD!!!! you should not be worried about a basketball game, you should be watching the monitors and doing your JOB!!! that pissed me off. i decided to ask the nurse again if she could talk to the security guard and ask her for me and she said ok. nothing changed, but just then the lady from the ambulance came and told us my mom was there and we could go see her. thank God! we could finally breath! we were at the hospital for about 2 1/2 hours! everyone was tired and just wanted to go home! my mom felt sick with all the medicine and no food! it was just horrible. after we left the hospital, we had to go get gas and my mom's prescription at the pharmacy. by the time we got home, everyone was trashed. my brother ran into the house to get my dad to help my mom up the stairs. she has a cast on her left leg, from her foot to the bottom of the knee. so, she is hopping on the crutches and then...she falls again. oh my God!! i freaked out! i ran and told my dad...hurry up! the hospital should've really given us a wheelchair instead of just crutches. it's ridiculous. so, we finally got her into the house and into her chair. finally...the day was over!

happy new year!!

so i'm late. hope everyone had a good new year. mine was nice. just stayed at home w/ my family and listened to music. i haven't even thought of resolutions yet. they'll probably be my same old ones that i never got around to doing. ;) have a happy new year everyone!!

what happened?

okay, i'm a little late w/ this post but i was looking at back posts that i wrote and thought of it. last october...13, october '05 to be exact, i wrote a post about all the ladybugs that were all over the place...literally. there were everywhere!! you couldn't open a door w/out at least 3 flying into your house. this year? none. well...that's not exactly true. i saw one! just one...on my birthday! it was on the windshield of the car for like 10 mins. then it was gone. it was super cute to see one on my birthday since i love them, but what happened? is it this crazy "el~nino" weather we're having? strange! ciao!

gilmore girls

do any of you watch 'gilmore girls'? i got into the show in like march i think. i love it!! i watch it with my mom every tuesday and any other day we feel like watching it, thanks to dvds and abc family!!

so, i cannot wait until next tuesday!! i so want luke to kick christophers' ass!!! luke and lorelai belong together! they are soul mates!! can't she see it? can't he see it? i keep seeing the coming attractions where luke and chris are stomping towards eachother and i'm like "go luke!!! kick his ass!!!! win back your woman and don't let go no matter how much she can't commit to a freakin' relationship!!!". can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!! sorry, but i love that show and i so want luke and lorelai to be together!!

crazy weather!!!!!

is anybody else having crazy weather? right now, it's 5:40am and 62 degrees...the high for today, which is usually reached at around 4pm is only suppose to be 46 degrees! hello? our high for today is going to be 19 degrees lower than it is right now! is that crazy or what? and! it gets worse! friday we are suppose to have a mix of rain AND snow! and by saturday it's all going to be snow!! yikes!! now it's raining! so rain---rain & snow---snow! that's our weather!

i know i talk alot about weather here! i love it...i really do! i can literally watch the weather channel for like hours. it's fascinating...to me anyway! had to share the crazy weather we are having here! ciao!!

random celebrity news

i don't usually talk about celebrity crap on here. i don't know why, it's kinda like my guilty pleasure. i absolutely love "best week ever" and "the soup", which i think should be on 5 days a week, but that's just me. wasn't joel so cute last friday (10/13)? his voice was totally going on him but he still managed to do the show! i guess there are just soooo many celeb. blogs out there i wouldn't talk so much about it. here are some things i wanted to comment on!

the mccartney divorce continues
on the front page of comcast, in the news section it says that "heather mills claims paul attacked and stabbed her." i can't help but laugh. i don't know him but he definitely doesn't seem like the kinda of person that would attack and stab his wife or anyone for that matter, unless it was in self-defense. this just seems like "i'm losing this and i want to come out of this w/ some money so what can i say? oh yes, he stabbed me!". pathetic!

until what you might be wondering? until Christmas! yikes! this year has just been flying. i can't believe we are that close to Christmas! soon the snow will start falling. oh wait! that's suppose to happen monday! double yikes! too soon! so start shopping now! like i should talk. i'm always a last minute person or maybe this year not-at-all-person. the job Gods are just not shining on me! :( so, everyone else, start shopping now!!! lol it'll be here before you know it! ciao!

fall is here!!!!!!

i absolutely ♥LOVE♥ fall!!! it is the best season out of the four. i even have a list of why i love fall so much! here ya go!

i really believe that fall is like a magic season. there is definitely magic in the air. the way the season just flows. i wish it just lasted longer. like do away w/ winter and summer. fall and spring!! that would be just perfect! not too hot, not too cold...just perfect!! i love it!! enjoy it all!! ciao!!

ooo...that smell

have you ever been outside right before a rainfall or a snowfall and the air has a certain smell to it? like you know it's gonna rain or snow soon. they each have different scents by the way. but you know, like you sniff and say "hmm...gonna rain soon" or "hmm...gonna snow soon". you just know. well tonite when i was walking out of the grocery store the air had that scent to it. i got in the car and said to my mom, "wanna hear something strange?". "ok". "the air smells like snow." she was now as perplexed as me. okay...it did get cooler here, way cooler. it was in the 80's on friday and today, tuesday, it only reached mid 50. that is a 25-30 degress difference, but the smell of snow in the air. strange. she noticed it when we got home. right now, it's 49, but still not cold enough for snow. too early too! they said it was gonna rain and i would understand the smell of rain in the air, but not snow. i like snow, but it's way too early! i don't think it's gonna snow, it was just way too strange. had to share. ciao!

finally!!!!

it's about damn time! that's all i have to say. about what you might be thinking to yourself. about time the pizza huts here in indiana got real breadsticks. i haven't had the real thing, the ones with the melted cheese on them since i was last in jersey, which was 5 years ago! 5---five! that's a long time. when i lived in jersey i went to pizza hut almost every weekend and got these delicious breadsticks. after we moved here, my mom and i decided to go get yourselves some and was so damn dissapointed when they brought us out these plain breadsticks with a cup of melted cheese to dip them in. what? and the cheese wasn't even mozarella, it was some kind of yellow cheese, not cheddar, i think it was american. ick...ick...ick!!! what the hell kind of crap is this? we were disgusted and majorly dissapointed. it was bad enough we couldn't get real new york style italian pizza (we did eventually find a place with real new yorkers) and there was nowhere to get a real italian sub (still haven't found) and there was a serious lack of cute unmarried guys, but we'll save that for another post, but this! we were so desperate that we tried like every pizza hut in the area. there's alot here and none! none! until now! oh joy! there were so good. i weep at their goodness! sad i know but if you didn't have something for 5 years and then had it again after that l-o-n-g time and it was so damn good...you'd weep too. don't lie! had to share and kudos! to you indiana pizza huts for finally coming to your damn senses. by the way, they are called "cheesy sticks" here if you want to try them. ciao!!

5 years later

Today, sadly, marked 5 years since the attack on the United States. 5 years! That is such a long time. It seemed like it just happened yesterday. It still kinda seems like a dream too. More like a nightmare but you know what I mean. I still remember where I was when it happened. I was at work. It was a year and a month since I moved from New Jersey to Indiana. I had also just gotten back from a vacation to New Jersey a few weeks earlier, by plane. I use to live in a small town w/ alot of people in Jersey. Sounds familiar doesn't it. 16 miles southwest of New York City and those Towers. I could actually see them from certain areas from where I lived. I use to stare at them every chance I could, wishing and hoping that one day I would live in that magical city. I wanted to be like those towers in a way...larger than life. Make a name for myself. It's silly I know, but it was my dream. August 21st would be the last day I would see those towers and everyone else I loved in New Jersey. They are all still alive, I'm just so scared to go fly on a plane. Still...5 years later! So, there I was at work and it seemed unreal to me. I just wanted to go home, be with my family. It was the longest 8 hours of my life. When I did get home, I was glued to the tv, just watching over and over again, wondering when I was going to wake up from this horrific nightmare. All those lives...gone. I feel so much for those people that lost loved ones that day from those attacks. I can't imagine what they must have gone through. I even had a nightmare that night. I was in a car with my Mom driving on the overpass in Jersey that we would always have to drive over and it a was spot where you could almost always see the towers. I looked over and said "Stop the car!". She stopped and we both got out, looked over and then a plane went into one of the towers. I woke up sweating and crying. It seemed so real. Even the days that followed seemed surreal. I live pretty close to an airport and not hearing any planes was so scary. Like the world stopped and it did in a way. I hope to God we never have to go through any of that again. I don't want to be scared anymore. I want to be able to go on a plane again and visit my relatives and friends. I can't let them scare me. 5 years later...I'm ready not to be scared. God Bless!

something you wouldn't see in new jersey

hot summer day...children...lined up...outside...waiting for it to open...library. me and my mom saw actual children lined up outside the library waiting for it to open. a library!! i swear the people in indiana are so...different. you would never see that in new jersey. never! the only time kids went to a library in the summer is if there was nothing else to do and that was the only place they knew that had air-conditioning. and, they definitely wouldn't be waiting for the place to open! here's the kicker! they weren't just lined up at the front door. they were lined up at the back door too!!! i know it's good for kids to go to the library and learn...it was just strange. it's like seeing old people lined up outside waiting for the nursing home to open so they can get the good room. things like that just don't happen! had to share! ciao!

my new background

don't you just love my new background? it's so cool and i absolutely love hibiscus flowers. so tropical! it makes me want to copy the design onto my bedroom wall or door. i think i shall do just that on sunday! ahhh...inspiration! it comes in the strangest ways sometimes.

the new idiot box

when people talk about the "idiot box" one automatically assumes they are talking about the television. not me...anymore. the new "idiot box" for me is the computer. while it has broadened my knowledge, it basically replaced the tv. now instead of sitting in front of the tv for hours, i sit in front of the computer. it is indeed the new "idiot box". so, i have decided to give up the computer! for a day a week anyway. let's not do anything stupid now. when i did write those 4 poems in one day, i didn't have a computer then. ok, i did. i definitely wasn't on it as much as i am now! i think i need to get away from this contraption in order to get my inspiration back. so on sundays, i'm just gonna study the guitar or french, or read a book, maybe take a walk. something, anything to get my inspiration back. wish me luck! peace!

inspiration

i need inspiration! for what you might ask. for anything! it recently occured to me that i have not written a poem in a very long time. i, one time, wrote 4 poems in one day. i'm not bragging, but now i'm lucky if i can write 4 in 1/2 a year! so sad. where has my inspiration gone? and more importantly, when shall it return?

do da do do...ok enough singing. well, summer has been here for about a month and it's finally starting to kick in. it will be in the 90's all week. it started like 2 days ago. we have been making dinners in the toaster oven, 'cause it is too damn hot to put the regular oven on. which sucks. i am craving french fries!!! i swear i can eat them every day. please let some coolness come so i can have french fries!

the #1 thing that pisses me off more than the summer heat, is the local weather people letting us know how hot it is. "well it's a scorcher today. better stay inside. you do not want to be outside today with these temperatures." and so on. like we don't know how hot it is. i swear they must think we are stupid. and it happens every single year. ridiculous!!

so, here is to cooler weather and less stupid weather people. cheers!!

a legend has passed on

roger "syd" barrett, founder of pink floyd, has passed on. according to news stories that i read he died on friday. he was 60. i got into his music about a year and a half ago and was just amazed. he will truly be missed. shine on!

miles away from ordinary

if you watch tv, then i am positive that at one time or another you have seen those corona commercials. the man or the couple just laying in their beach chairs drinking coronas. i want so badly to be where they are. just laying on the sand and staring at the ocean without a care in the world. it's beautiful. does anyone know where these commercials are filmed? if so, please tell me.

how many guys does it take to go food shopping?

apparently 6. i went food shopping with my mom earlier today and there were 6 guys, all together, also food shopping. i was calling them "guy squad". they kept blocking whole aisles, it was kinda annoying. we saw them in the parking lot and it looked like they were going camping w/ the ice and coolers and stuff like that. but, seriously, it takes 6 of you guys to go shopping for 1 weekend? can you imagine if they had to do a whole weeks worth of shopping? they would probably need like 10 more guys to help!! this is like living proof that you guys cannot live w/out us women. you should really be nicer to us!! i wish i had it on camera. had to share. ciao!!

who gets more pathetic everyday?

why ms. britney spears does!!! by now you have seen the pic that will soon grace the cover of "harpers bazaar" magazine next month. britney pretending to be demi moore. yes naked and pregnant. you might think, "how nice. what a wonderful way to capture a great part of being a woman." and yes, it is kinda wonderful. except for the fact that the picture is photoshopped to death. remember the interview britney did w/ matt lauer like a month ago? her face was all puffy and her hair didn't even looked like it was brushed in the back. well here is what she looks like now, supposively. does she really expect people to think she really looks like that in person? 'cause we all know from that interview, she don't. on the news, they showed the cover that demi moore did years ago and at least it looked real. i mean, the woman even had a dimple on her thigh, not smooth like this. it's pathetic.

she became a pop princess, sold millions of albums and has millions of dollars. and that's great. but to keep basking in the glory that you once was is not great. she should just take her millions and just move back to louisiana and become the housewife she so is. you are not a pop princess anymore, wake up.

the view

as everyone already knows, star jones has left "the view". that sucks. i've never watched the show, but i really wanted to see her and rosie go at it when rosie joined in september. oh well! now they are down one person. hello view!! hire me! i'm young and hip and definitely have a voice. i know they have one young person already, elizabeth. but, isn't she in her 30s? i'm in my 20s. it would be a nice refreshing change. to have a lady in each age group, more variety. so, if you are looking for a new person, look no farther.

i now know what the best mascara in the world is and i'm gonna share w/ you. it's avons daring definition mousse mascara!! from the second you unscrew the top and pull out the brush you know you're gonna love it. and, yes this is even before you put it on. it's so creamy and not at all clumpy. it glides on your lashes and does what it's suppose to do...define. i have such short eyelashes, but you would think i had on a pair of really great false lashes after i put this mascara on. it's the best!! for those of you that don't have an avon lady to get this amazing mascara...don't fret. my mom sells it and you can contact her at janiceann28@yahoo.com.

is it the site or the people?

so, i belong to myspace. it's a pretty cool site. you get to get back in contact with old friends and even make some new ones. i've gotten back in contact w/ a bunch of people from high school and even one person who i haven't seen since 8th grade. it's pretty neat. i'm sure most of you already know what myspace is but for those who don't, it's kinda like this, but w/ everything on one page...your profile, your blog section, comment section...stuff like that. the best part is the old friend thing, considering alot of us don't live in the same town anymore and some of us, like me, don't even live in the same state anymore. but and there's always a but, i don't think you can have an intellectual conversation there. it's either the site or my friends. case in point, i posted a blog about soulmates. do you believe in them? or not, and your reason. i'll admit it, i'm kinda obsessed with the topic of soulmates. i love to think about it and hear peoples' reasons of why they do or don't and especially if they meet their soulmate. i definitely believe in them, i haven't meet mine yet, but i just can't help but believe. so, i posted the blog and like 15 of my friends viewed the post, but only 1 person responded. now i know, it was my friends who viewed it because at myspace you can decided who reads your blog: public, friends or select people. i chose friends. and, it's not like it's a touchy subject. so, why only 1 response? do i not have intellectual friends or is it just myspace. the site alone is kinda aimed at younger people, but me and my friends are all around the same age...the range is like 19-26. i posted a blog here a few months ago about the subject of soulmates and once again, only got 1 response. it was a stranger, but he gave a really good response. do people just not like this topic? if you want to share your thoughts...please do. ciao!

that's right...everyone's favorite night of awards was on tonite. the 78th annual academy awards. jon stewart was the host and in my opinion, he did a really great job. a little nervous at first, he had some really funny jokes. another funny part was when ben stiller came out in the green leotard. there was some really nice fashions and some really bad fashions. also, there were alot of ladies that wore green dresses. i counted like 4 myself. here is my list of best dressed and not-so-best dressed.

"crash"---i was hoping this movie would win, i didn't see it, but i love movies when there are like 5 stories going on at once and somehow everyone is tied in. since all the buzz was around "brokeback mountain" i automatically discounted it for ever winning. i seriously think i was as shocked as they were when they announced that "crash" won.

"it's hard out here for a pimp"---i think this was a little shocking to alot of people, but it was the best song. the song from "crash" was a little too slow in my opinion and the song from "transamerica" wasn't bad, but taraji p. henson had such a fabulous voice, there was noway they couldn't give them the award for best song. i actually had goosebumps after she sang. and, i don't even really like rap music. i'm so happy the academy actually went above and beyond with this award. they really gave it to the best person.

philip seymour hoffman---i didn't see "capote", but after seeing the clips for it, i was hoping so much that he would win. the voice alone was such a big change from his regular voice. that's great acting for you. here's another category where people thought heath ledger from "brokeback mountain" would win. i didn't see that movie either, but the way he looked and sounded in that movie, i couldn't help but think that he sounded and kinda looked like the president. my mom thought the same thing. did anyone of you think that?

reese witherspoon---i'm happy she won...her acceptance speech was pure reese and from what i saw of the movie, she did do a great job. although, i do wish that keira knightley would've won instead. i did see "pride & prejudice" and thought she did a fabulous job as elizabeth bennet. very amazing movie...i'm kinda surprised it wasn't one of the movies up for a best picture award.

well...that's it. i think the most shocking was that "brokeback mountain" didn't win as many awards as people had intended it would, but the movie still managed to win "original score", "adapted screenplay" and "directing". that's still pretty good. from "crash" winning "best picture" to "it's hard out here for a pimp" winning "original song"...this years' oscar just proved that even the underdog has a chance at winning a little gold.

lost

one more post and then off to bed. i'm sooooo lost without my club pogo! my subscription ended today and i don't have the cash to renew. this could be a good thing in disguise though. i did spend way too much on there. and now that i don't have it anymore i might actually get my life in order. hmmm...i'm still lost though. television and online gaming are tickets to a life unlived. you know? you just sit there watching or playing and then you blink and like 5 hours have passed. it's sad. oh well...that's all for now. so tired. good nite!! ciao!!

help!

ok...i'm confused, pissed and a little jealous.

confused because for two days now i have been searching almost every online job finder i can search. i'm not looking for anything big, just a simple receptionist/secretary job. part time or full time...temp. or permanent. but, please tell me why with most of them i need a business degree? i have done this type of work in the past. it's definitely not something you need a degree in. it's simple...very simple. let's put it this way. if i went to a 2 or 4-year college and the only job i could get with my degree is a receptionist/secretary job, i would be majorly pissed!! i would feel like i totally wasted 2 or 4 years of my life and a hell of alot of money.

pissed because of the above. if i have the requirements for the job, i should be able to get said job.

and, a little jealous because i keep hearing about bloggers who are getting very nice book deals from their blog. i shouldn't be jealous but happy but i can't help it. i wish i could get a book deal. not to brag, because i definitely don't like doing that, but i have been told by alot of people that i'm a good writer. maybe i should start writing more. i have ideas...i just need to get them down.

okay...not jealous anymore. i thought about it and realized i shouldn't be jealous over something someone got from working their ass off. i need to remember that good things in life just don't get handed over to someone who doesn't do the work. ciao!!

sorry for the lack of posts. not much has been going on here. just the usual. still looking for a job. trying to get a secretarial job. i'm a great typer! there is just nothing in the newspapers! i think i'm just going to go to a temp agency for now...just to get my foot in the door. wish me luck!

my brothers b-day just passed. he turned 24! such a busy day. my mom and i just baked and cooked almost all day. it all turned out nice though.

i really hate being sick

ick...i have a cold...i have had it for about a week now. it's horrible. my right side of my nose is completely blocked and so is my right ear. can't pop it for the life of me. i have almost gone through a box of puffs in less than a week. at least it's not the flu. that would've been worse. these are the times that i wish i had a laptop. i couldn't go on the computer at all yesterday, which is like horrible for me. the worst part is that you can't go outside. you can, but you just get worse, like i did. it's one thing to not want to go out, but when you can't...ick. all you can do is just lay in bed, staring at the walls and the ceiling. not fun at all! i am getting a little better though as you can tell or i wouldn't be here writing this. sorry if this is all jumbled...my brain doesn't work well with a cold. well...back to bed for me. ciao!

well, it never rains in southern california

good song...i have no idea who does it though. of course, when you hear it and your not from southern california you think "wow...can't be true." i did anyway. well...i still have never been there but after today i definitely believe it. and if anyone else thought the same thing i did when hearing that song they would all be believers that it never does rain in southern california. but, only if they watched the rose parade on hgtv. my God...those announcers talked about the rain like every minute. it was like the equivalent of someone seeing a holy statue cry for the first time...which i never saw either but i think you get my point. it was like a phenomenon for them. at one point...some high school band was doing the santana song "evil ways" and they did it really good. but, one of the announcers goes "santana song. you've got to change your evil ways. they must be talking about the rain." i swear...that's what he said...word for word. it was really getting to the point that i wanted to change channels but they really have the best coverage and no commercials. they commented on everything from the flowers staying nice and beautiful to some ladys' hair and how it was staying its shape with the rain. it was just annoying and noone else seem to be bothered by the "evil" rain. not the people in the stands...who had those plastic ponchos on but giant smiles and cheering and just enjoying every minute. nor the people in the parade, not the wavers or the band members or the cheerleaders. they all had giant smiles and seemed to really care less about the rain...just enjoying themselves. the thing that was most annoying is at the end of the parade when they go in on the announcers, they were perfectly dry and their hair and make-up was perfect also, not runny or weathered down like most of the people. then they left the cameras on them for a bit and the first thing they said was about the friggin' rain...just ridiculous. all in all though...it was a really nice parade. it's just amazing how they make the colors on the floats from flowers and spices. they had one float from some city in california...can't remember where, but it had a water fountain and on the base of the fountain they had these paintings around it and they really looked like oil paintings and it was done with spices...absolutely amazing. those people do such a great job on them. i already can't wait to next year...i just hope it doesn't rain. ciao!!

happy new years all!!! i really have a feeling that is going to be a great year. hell...it can't be any worse than last year. actually...last year wasn't that bad but it could've been better. we even did an old tradition of my mom's mom of holding a sardine in your left hand and a dollar bill in your right. i really hope that works 'cause i've washed my hands like 20 times and i still smell some fish on my hand. yuck!!! i still haven't decided what i want my resolutions to be...will post when i got them figured out. so...hope you all have a great year!! ciao!!

it's that time of year again!

the time when most of us think of what our new year's resolutions are going to be. most of my new ones will actually be old ones that i didn't stick to from 2005. i think i only completed one. better than previous years though. ;)

2005 resolutions
1. learn to play the guitar.
(this one will have to be carried over. i want to learn how to play so badly. i just love the guitar. it's acoustic, but what better way to learn. spend way too much time on the computer though...will have to cut that out)
2. learn to speak & write french.
(i'm actually doing pretty good on this one, probably cause i use the computer to learn. about.com is a great place if you want to learn a language. they have alot of lessons to help you. my dad keeps bitching at me about this one though, saying i should learn spanish. it will help me in the workfield, blah, blah, blah. but, honestly, if that's one of the requirements for getting a job in america then i don't want it, french included. i'm learning for the joy. it sounds so beautiful. one time i was listening to a french station on internet radio and this commercial came on and i didn't understand what they were talking about, but it was so beautiful. at the end of the commercial though they said in english about recycling your garbage. i mean, if a language can make garbage sound beautiful it can make anything sound great.)
3. get license.
(i actually completed this one. got it on march 15th. am so happy too. i love driving. not so much on the highways, they go 70 here!! but learning.)
4. get healthier.
(it always used to be "lose weight" and that never worked out so i decided to go with "get healthier", since it's not just putting emphasis on losing weight but a full mind, body and soul workover. it's working too! while i still eat pizza and snacks like they are the last foods on earth, i have lost a few pounds!! i started doing yoga too! i love it! it's so easy to do and while you are doing it, you don't even realize how it's helping. if you go to self.com you can get this yoga ab exercises and they are great! i was doing them for awhile, then quit for some reason but am doing them again. i do them 3 days a week and started last monday. it takes like 30 mins to do the set and the time just flies by. and, seriously, i cannot stress this enough...it really doesn't feel like exercising. well...the next day, i woke up and my stomach felt like i did like 1,000 sit-ups. you know how your stomach muscles just feel like ouch and when you laugh it hurts. that's how i felt. by wednesday i was good to do the set again. it really works and once again, does not feel like exercise. try it!! go to self.com and look for yoga/ab exercises. they usually have pics of the exerciser and she is wearing all white. hope you can find it. also...when i use to do sit-ups they use to kill my back and i can do this yoga set with no harm to my back and you are on your back for 4 of the 10 exercises. that's truth that it works!!)
5. get organized.
(i'm gonna cross this one because i'm as organized as i can possibly get. while it wouldn't work with most peoples' standards and would most likely horrify the designers from the show "mission organization" (good show, by the way), it works for me and yes, i know where everything is in my room. so...goodbye to number 5!!)
6. be able to do a handstand.
(this is a quirky one of mine. i would just love to be able to do this. maybe if i actually stick to the yoga all the way to the end of 2006 i will be able to do this. have to stick w/ the yoga.)

ok...those were my resolutions for 2005. and, i completed 2 out of 6. that's good, for me anyway. got think about 2006 now. will post those when i have them figured out. ciao!!

Merry Christmas!!

hello all!! hope everyone had a great Christmas day!! i certainly did. it was very peaceful and nice here. we had so much food to eat and it was all so good. it was strange at first cause when i first woke up it was pouring rain outside. that's not suppose to be. i don't care for snow but we should at least have it on Christmas day. but...then at around 2pm snow started coming into the mix and by 3pm it was full on snowing. very cool!! of course, it didn't stick much because it was too wet outside but it was still nice to see it coming down. my mom invited her friend over so that was nice. my brother brought a mini hand-held camcorder awhile ago so we were able to tape the festivities going on. i did a mini tour of our house and what everyone was doing to enjoy the holiday; including the cats, who were just lounging. now, i am just relaxing...too much good food. so...that's about it. but, what else do you need besides family, friends, presents and food on Christmas day? nothing. so...hope you all had a nice Christmas or whatever holiday you represent!! ciao!

"today, everything you hoped for will be within sight. it won't be much longer now."<--- that is my horroscope for today. i read my horroscope almost everyday and while most of the times, i just roll my eyes and think how no matter how i bend this it's never going to mean anything to me...this one seemed to jump right off the screen. like it was meant for me. finally...instead of having to climb another mountain or jump another hurdle...something good is gonna come my way! maybe my dream job or my soulmate. maybe i'll finally meet him. ooh...i'm happy and excited. and, i don't think i was ever excited over my horroscope before. okay...cannot think about this 'cause if it does turn out to be a horroscope that had nothing to do with me...i won't be happy anymore. man am i cynical. that's from living in new jersey for 21 years. gotta think happy thoughts. ciao!! :)

the first fall of winter

no...not snowfall. we already got that...many times. i'm talking the first, and hopefully last, busting your ass (fall) of winter. which just happened to me. i went outside to get the morning paper and we have a little deck w/ 2 steps. i walked down the steps...they seemed a little icy but not bad. then...as i go to step off the last step onto the concrete below...there i go. my foot doesn't stop...it just keeps sliding away. i did a 180. banged my right leg...which instanly got a huge bump and bruise...my right hand is completely red and of course i busted my ass, by landing on it. but...if that wasn't bad enough. on the step rail...my brother hung christmas soldiers on each side. somehow...on my way down it got knocked off and as i was laying on the ground...it fell down and hit me on my left ear. isn't that just lovely? luckily my dad heard the commotion and ran out to help me. he needed 2 hands to help me up 'cause it was so icy, it was like trying to stand up from a sitting position w/ rollerblades on. i just kept sliding. it happened so quickly too. the concrete didn't even look like ice...just a slight layer of snow. so...like i said, hopefully that will be my last fall of winter. be careful out there people. winter is definitely here. ciao!!

hello! i've decided to choose a new template for the blog as you can see. the old one was getting a little too dark for me. and...since everything is so grey outside i figured i'd bring a little color to my blog. part of me loves winter...the pureness and beauty of fresh fallen snow and the christmas lights hung on almost every house shining brightly. and then there is the part that hates winter...where the sky seems to seemlessly blend in with the ground and all is one. one grey blob. that part i can definitely live without. but, since i can't do anything about the latter, i will just make the rest of my life, indoors and outdoors a little more colorful. ciao!!

happy december!

well...december is in full swing!! Christmas decorations are everywhere!! where i live they have a hardware store and they set up a bunch of trees w/ different themes and they are decorated so beautifully. one is western w/ the cowboy boots, ocean w/ hibiscus flowers, dolphins and leis and they even have a jack daniels one. really nice. they have more, but i can't remember them all. snow is on the ground and the weather has dipped to a bone-chilling 2 degress w/ a wind chill factor of -12 degress. too too cold. i know i sound like the weather channel but i'm kinda obsessed w/ it. can watch it for hours. sad...i know. sometimes there really isn't anything better on. or...i'll have the weather channel on but the tv muted and just have my stereo on. ok...why am i admitting this? anyway...is everyone ready for the upcoming holidays. whether you observe Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, the holidays are so stressful. shopping in the dead of winter feeling like you want to die 'cause you have a cold and then having to go home, decorate the house, wrap the presents and cook for your giant family who mostly get into a big fight and are ungrateful. thank God my family is small...no fights. so...have a nice december and stay stressless. ciao!!
