♥ Animal Crossing ~ New Leaf ♥

I love it, love it, love it!  My brother brought it for me since he knows how upset I am at Pet Society closing. It's on sale this week at Kmart for only $30!  $5 cheaper than everywhere else.

Things I love:

1. can donate more than one item at a time
2. can have Blathers identify more than one fossil at a time
3. items you have already donated are now grayed out so no more accidentally donating items twice
4. art can now be hung up on the wall
5. by pressing the left or right button on the d-pad, you can view your room from all sides
6. you can unlock stores so the game won't get old and boring
7. you can pretty much put your house wherever you want
8. you're the mayor now!  which unlocks more things to be done in the game...even less of a chance of getting bored.

Things I don't like:

1. 2 days playing & not one gyroid has been dug up yet.  i really love them and i hope they are in the game.
2. that's it.

This game is pretty much perfect and I haven't heard of them NOT being in the game so they must be hiding. I can't wait to unlock the QR code machine and all the other fun stores.

If you are a fan of this series, do not pass on this game!  It's awesome!  I highly recommend it.  I could even see non-fans playing this game.

I did post something like this on my tumblr so if you see it twice, that's why.  Gotta share the love!  lol  (^_^)

New blog?

Thinking of it.  I really, really, really love anime!  It's pretty much all I watch.  I was thinking of starting a side blog and just posting reviews of all the shows I've ever seen.  I know there are a bunch of personal anime review blogs out there but there's always room for one more, right?

Letting go but not just yet...

As sad as it is, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that Pet Society will not be saved.  EA just doesn't want to do anything for us.  I mean, I would be thrilled if they just kept the game up as it is w/out ever updating it again but no, nothing.  It's so sad because even though there are other pet simulation games out there, none are as good as Pet Society.  Believe me, I've tried them.  EA is coming out w/ new games and they are pushing them on us but we love Pet Society because it's simple, cute and truly a social game.  Plus, it's a pet simulation game.  As much as I like Plants vs. Zombies, it's not now or ever will be, Pet Society.

We only have 10 more days to play w/ our little virtual pets.  It's silly but I'm really sad about it.  It's so cute when you log on and they wave to you.  It might be virtual but it's friggin' adorable!

Maybe like the Grinch, EA's heart will grow and decide to leave the game up.  We have 10 days for a miracle!  (^_^)

Speaking of learning...

As I said in my last post, you can learn a lot of things online.  I belong to a few groups on facebook and was introduced to this site by one of them.   https://diy.org/skills

There they have a bunch of skills and badges you can earn.  For some reason, I love earning badges and no, I was never in girl scouts.  I just feel more accomplished if there is a goal.  I was thinking of signing up and tackling some of these skills.  I mean, why not, right?  It'll be fun!  Learning new things is always fun.  (^_~)

I'm just not sure which one to go for first.  hmmm...  If and when I decide on one, I'll let ya'll know.  ♥

Internet...then & now

While cleaning my room, I came across some old papers from when I had a website at angelfire.com.  These papers are like 15 years old.  All my html codes.  Sigh...I miss those days.  I had such a cool Sailor Moon fan site.  lol  Remember midis?  I had them on my site too!  My mom and I would go to the midi site and play them and have the other guess what the song was.  So fun 'cause some you could tell right off the bat and others, not so much.  lol  We definitely had fun w/ that.

I remember when we first got online.  It was so magical.  My grandparents had brought us a webtv for Christmas one year.  I was so excited.  It was like a dream being able to go online and just search for whatever you want.  Webtv was really cool.  Just hook it up to the tv and go.  It was the first internet tv.  That's why I'm kinda confused as to why internet tv's cost so much.  Anyways, I miss it.  They had a chat called Talk City and it was so fun!  They had a trivia room.  That was so awesome.  I would spend hours in there and the Sailor Moon one.  You know what was weird...people were so nice back then.  Now, if you go into a chat room, it'll be nothing but creeps.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the internet.  There's so much you can do and learn.  Seriously, I swear there is a tutorial video for anything you want to learn on youtube.  I've learned to make a few polymer clay items from videos on there.   :D

The one and only thing I hate about the internet: looking up things you use to love & have warm memories about only to discover, it really, really sucks.  Some things are better left as memories.  This usually only happens w/ old music that I use to jam to.  It's like, what was I thinking?  lol  (^_^)

I guess the internet is pretty much the same only faster and less private.  Yay?

babies = accessories?

according to glamour magazine anyways.  looking through the april issue, i'm way behind, and they have the top 10 glamour dos & don't.

#1 ~ "It's Glamour's Accessories Issue - so why not salute the most-carried accessory since the dawn of time?  Here, a bevy of celebs with their ultimate piece of arm candy.  Too cute."

seriously?  arm candy?  most-carried accessory?  it's a baby for cryin' out loud!  for a magazine as forward thinking as glamour, this do seems a bit childish, so to speak.  i have nothing against babies but to think of them as arm candy or accessories is just ridiculous.  i mean when celebs were toting around mini dogs as accessories, people were complaining saying that a dog is a pet, not an accessory.  which i agree so why is it okay to call a baby an accessory?

i'm all for celebs being w/ their babies instead of them being w/ a nanny but i'm sure there's a better word to describe them than an accessory.  bad move glamour, bad move!

Pet Society photo blog!

I decided to do a photo blog and share some pics of my little pet and her house from Pet Society!

If you click on any of the pictures, it'll make them a little bigger so you can see them easily.
Enjoy!  ^_^

I have a lot more pics of rooms and Star in her many, many outfits.  As you could probably tell, those closets took awhile to organize.  I had to go through her chest of clothes like a gazillion times to make sure I didn't miss anything.  Worth it though, I love the color-coordination.  lol  ♥

Rant time!

Sometimes you just have to rant!  As you know, I've been blogging about trying to save Pet Society, cute little pet simulation game on Facebook.  I have literally been playing this game almost every day since I started 4 years ago.  I get bored easily and for me to play or do anything the same for 4 years, I must be really, really interested in it.  So it breaks my heart that once June 14th rolls around, the game will be gone.  My pet and her house and stuff, just gone!

What really pisses me off though is that people aren't signing the petition!  I'm in a group on Facebook that has over 31,000 people and yet the petition only has 17,763 signatures!  I know a bunch of people from the group have signed it but the numbers still don't add up.  According to appdata.com, there are still 100,000 DAU on the game!  It takes less than a minute to sign it.  If people love the game as much as they claim, why aren't they signing it?

EA is not even going to glance at a petition that only has 17,763 signatures.  That is less than half of what they are trying to obtain which is 50,000.  Do they really think EA will take us serious with such a paltry amount of signatures?  They aren't going to keep the game open for 17,763 people!  Even as a die hard fan of the game, I can't blame them.

I do wish though that EA would let us download the game.  I would even pay to have it on my pc and right now, I never want to buy another EA product as long as I live.  I'm so mad at them for deciding to delete the game.  There are other pet simulations games out there and believe me, I've tried them but they do not hold a candle to Pet Society.

I'm going to share the link to the petition, once again!  Please sign it.  http://chn.ge/11ffPmA  ♥

Role Models

Let's talk about role models.  There was, maybe still is, a lot of flack for Disney revamping Merida from the movie "Brave".  A lot of moms saying how the new image is more sexy and grown-up and how it's setting a bad example for their children as a role model.  Wait?  Hold on!  Back up there!  Setting a bad example for their children as a role model?  A role model?  Am I missing something?  I thought Merida was a cartoon character.  Let me look it up.  *few seconds later*  Wow!  Guess what?  She is!  Merida is a cartoon character.  I repeat.  A cartoon character!

Role models should not be cartoon characters but real life people!  My role models were and still are, my parents!  Little girls should look no further than their own family to look for role models.  It boggles my mind that some parents are really up in arms about this Merida revamp.  I do agree that there was no need for them to re-style the character but do parents seriously think that their little girls will think they aren't worth it if they aren't as beautiful as a cartoon character?

When I was growing up I loved Barbie and Disney movies.  I'm 33 now and I never once had an eating disorder or thought I wasn't perfect because I wasn't tall and thin like my dolls.  But, like I said, I had two amazing role models right next to me.  My mom and dad.  They always told me how beautiful I was and how special I am and how proud there are of me.  They tell me this stuff to this day.

I'm not a parent but I was a kid and believe me, little girls won't feel like they are any less beautiful unless you tell them otherwise.  Revamping a cartoon character will not put anything into their heads until you put it there. Don't make a big deal out of it and it won't become a big deal.  It's as simple as that.

That horrible feeling when...

...you are super tired and just want to crawl into bed when you realize your bed isn't even made!  I'm not talking about it being messed up and you want to straighten everything out, I can sleep w/ that.  I'm talking about blanket and sheets completely off 'cause you washed them and were a bit tired/lazy from all the housework you did earlier that you put off making it.  Plus, my cat Jimmy was sleeping on the bed and I didn't want to disturb him.  Fast forward a few hours and yeah, that's what happened to me this morning.  Ugh...what a pain.  I'll tell you though, it was a dream sleeping in it once I was done.  ^_^

Haganai

Watching Haganai on Hulu+ and loved the Oreimo cameo in s1,ep11.  It took me by surprise and I had to rewind to make sure I wasn't seeing things.   lol

Sign the petition to save Pet Society

Mobile app!

Today I found out that blogger has a mobile app!  Yay!

I know...I'm a little behind the times.  lol

This means I can now blog whenever I want w/out being tied down by my pc!  Yay!  Don't worry pc, I still <3 you.  :-)

So get ready for more posts...maybe.   lol  ^_^

Reality TV

I don't care for reality tv.  I have watched a few but the majority of the shows just baffle me.  I just don't understand how most of them even get started and why people even care to watch it.

I was watching a rerun of "Sex and the City" on Style network, the one where Miranda's mother dies and Carrie gets mad at Aiden when he buys her a new Mac.  Still don't understand, after all these years, why she gets mad at him.  She's a writer, she needs something to write on since obviously a pen and paper are so last season and he does something generous and she gets mad at him?  Anyways, after "Sex and the City" went off, "Jerseylicious" came on.

I watched about 15 mins of it and I just don't get the appeal of the show.  All it's about is the life of employees at a hair salon.  How is that entertaining?  One of the girls was gonna throw a big party for her 25th birthday.  I will say that the theme for her party was pretty cool.  It was gonna be the year she was born which I think was 1987.  Pretty cool theme.  I was a bit surprised when she said her age 'cause I thought she had to be at least 10 years older than that.  Lay off the tanning girl!  After that, I shut it off.  If I want to see people at a party, I'll go to one or throw one myself.

The majority of reality shows are about normal, regular, everyday people doing normal, regular, everyday things that interest them.  Where is the entertainment in that?  Also, it's so sad that so many channels that use to have really good programming have gone to almost nothing but reality shows.  Even GSN (game show network) started airing "Dancing w/ the Stars".  How is that a game show?

I would love to see this genre just go away.  "Dancing w/ the Stars", "The Bachelor" and shows like that that are more competition can stay but these ones about regular people need to go and fast!  Bring back scripted programs w/ actors and actresses.  You know, real talent?  I'm dreaming again, aren't I?   lol

Pet Society

From a Pet Society friend.  Have to share this!

EVERYONE PLEASE READ:

We have TWO months (supposedly) I'm sure there is NO PS TEAM anymore just a random coder at EA probably keeping our server alive before they shut it all down. BUT THE POINT IS THIS:

THEY WANT US TO GIVE UP that is why they are dragging this out for TWO MONTHS

THEY WANT THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS TO DROP

THEY WANT US TO GIVE UP ON THE GAME AND OUR PETS

THEY WANT US TO GET TIRED OF COMPLAINING AND SPREADING OUR PETITION

WE HAVE TO STAY STRONG IF WE REALLY LOVE OUR PETS

I know it's just a pixel pet, and the world is really screwy right now with the news but every time I log into my game and see my little adorable baby waving at me, my heart breaks. I truly love PS and playing. It is relaxing. It is cute. It lets me have a place in the world where there is no murder or crime ONLY CUTENESS. I am also allergic to animals even though I love them so much, so this is my only pet. I am seriously depressed and heartbroken over this closure. I know EA does NOT care about us or our pixels. They know that eventually we will all get over it, but I REFUSE TO STOP GIVING THEM HELL FOR TAKING AWAY MY BABY.

DON'T GIVE UP, DO NOT LET THEM WIN. DON'T STOP SPREADING THE WORD.

Even if they can save ONE server for the loyal people.
Even if they can switch it over to PopCap

DO NOT GIVE UP

Save Pet Society

EA has announced that after almost 5 years, they are shutting down Pet Society.  The only reason they give is to make room for other games.  We don’t want other games, we want Pet Society!  We should try everything we can to save our pets!  This game is more than a game to us!  I’ve been playing this game for a little over 4 years.  My little Calliope Star, my little blue pet from the heavens, means a lot to me.  I’ve spent many hours and money giving her an amazing pixel life.  The saddest part about all of this is that I’ve met a lot of wonderful people on facebook through this game from all over the world.  This game has brought us together and now EA wants to destroy it.
Please, sign the petition.  It might work, it might not but we should at least try.  https://www.change.org/petitions/save-pet-society-from-closure-pet-society-game-on-facebook-is-shutting-down-on-14th-june-13
Ask your friends and family to sign it also!  It doesn’t take that long and could save the game.
As sad as it might be, don’t stop playing!  If people drop off now, than EA will just justify their reasons for closing saying that no one was playing the game.  Keep playing!!
You can also write a letter to EA at the following address:
Electronic Arts
ATTN: CEO
209 Redwood Shores Parkway
Redwood City, CA 94065
USA
If you do write a letter to them, please, please, please be polite.  There’s no faster way to be ignored by filling your letter w/ curses and threats.  Let’s not get crazy here.  You can put in your letter how long you’ve been playing and how much the game means to you.
Let’s do all we can to save our pets!

it's been so damn long

i don't want to say i completely forgot about this blog but i kinda did.  i think it's been 4 years since i last posted anything.  some things have changed, others haven't.

i, unfortunately, still don't have a job but i am starting to work on making jewelry!  i love it.  i found out about polymer clay from a facebook friend and decided to check it out.  it's so much fun!  i'm not that great at it just yet but i'm doing my best.  i even sold a pair of earrings on ebay!  if that doesn't make a gal feel good, i'm not sure what does.  lol

sadly, our 2 cats, conan o'brien and monique katrina passed away.  conan died on thanksgiving day 2010 and monique died in august 2011.  it was so heart-breaking to lose both cats within a year.  i wanted to hold off getting any cats for a long time.  one, i couldn't deal w/ the heartbreak and two, my mom and i both are kinda allergic to them.  it's not life-threatening but it's annoying.  can easily be taken care of w/ an allergy pill so like i said, it's not the worst of allergies.  but, my mom, who i swear you cannot say no to, decided that she wanted another cat almost immediately after monique died.  she just had to have another cat in this house.  so after searching all over, she finally found one on craigslist.  her and my brother went to pick it up while i stayed home enjoying the last final minutes of a clean and quiet house.  cats are messy and crazy.  she comes home and i look in the carrier and not see one but TWO, TWO CATS!!!  what? what? what?  she said ONE!!!  le sigh  we named the one cat jimmy and the other cat was named by my dad since he was even less happy than me that mom brought home two cats.  he likes "the big bang theory" so he named the cat sheldon since he thought it was a male.  it's not but the name seems perfect for her.  she's so petite, even now 2 1/2 years since my mom brought her home.  holding jimmy is like holding a baby, he's so big but not fat.  like conan was my baby so is jimmy.  i call him a stalker sometimes 'cause he'll just follow me from room to room.  lol  i love them! ♥  i never thought i could love another cat after my baby, conan, died.  it was just so heart-breaking.  have to stop talking about it or the tears will come.  also, we got the cats the day before my birthday.  it was nice.

we had to stop cable for a bit and invested in netflix, hulu and a few roku boxes.  OMG  i love my roku box!  ♥  we got cable again a few months ago and when my mom asked me if i wanted a box for my room, i declined.  with netflix, hulu, pandora and crunchyroll, my tv viewing time is set!  i need nothing more.

what else has changed?  hmm  i feel like a bunch has changed but maybe not?  i stopped dying my hair.  it was getting too much to have to dye it once a month.  my hair never seems to grow until i dye it.  then bam hair starts flowing from my scalp.  so annoying.

i'm still single but i've made my peace w/ it.  one day that time will come and i'll be ready but for now, i'll still work on perfecting myself.  right now, i don't think i'm in a good place to even have a relationship.  it's all good though.  and i'm serious about that.  ^_^

i lost 50 pounds!  a few Christmases ago, me and my brother went in and got the wii fit.  i couldn't believe when it weighed me and said i was way over 200 pounds.  i knew i was fat but damn!  that definitely made me get my ass in gear.  i have slacked off a bit since then but i still haven't gone back above 200.  so, that's good.  now that spring has sprung i'll get back into it again.

oh, about a month and a half before conan baby died, my mom broke her chest bone.  :(  it was horrible!  she didn't have to get surgery but she had to sleep sitting up for almost a month!  she slept in the living room, on her chair.  she's all better now but it was rough for her.

i think that's it.  some good, some bad.  that's life for you though.  i think overall though, in these past 4 years, there have definitely been more good than bad so that's awesome!  will try to post more but no promises. lol  ♥
